Jobs in UAE for Nepali Workers
UAE is a major destination for Nepali workers. Here is how to go legally and safely — and avoid the brokers who cheat people.
UAEमा वैदेशिक रोजगारका लागि कानुनी र सुरक्षित तरिकाले जाने उपाय।
UAE employs a large number of Nepali workers. The only safe way to go is legally, through the Department of Foreign Employment (DOFE) and a licensed manpower agency — never on a visit visa and never through an unlicensed broker (दलाल).
Common sectors for Nepalis in UAE: construction, security, hospitality, retail, drivers and facilities. Wages vary by employer, sector and contract — confirm everything in writing before you go.
The Legal Process (step by step)
- Choose a DOFE-licensed manpower agency. Verify its licence on dofe.gov.np — avoid unlicensed brokers.
- Check the demand letter approved by the Nepali mission in UAE.
- Read and sign a clear contract — salary, job, hours, accommodation, food and duration must be written down.
- Medical check-up at a GAMCA-approved clinic.
- Buy insurance and pay into the Foreign Employment Welfare Fund.
- Attend Pre-Departure Orientation (PDO) and get the certificate.
- Get your DOFE labour permit (श्रम स्वीकृति) — the final legal approval to fly. Check it online — see our labour permit check guide.
⚠️ Protect yourself: never pay large sums without an official receipt, confirm the salary in the contract matches what you were promised, keep copies of everything, and save the helpline 1135 and the Nepali embassy contact in UAE.
