The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) is where shares of listed Nepali companies are traded. To take part you need three things set up once: a Demat account, a bank account, and an account with a licensed stock broker.

To start investing you need: 1) a Demat account (to hold shares electronically), 2) a Mero Share account (to apply for IPOs and view holdings), and 3) a broker / TMS account (to buy and sell on NEPSE).

  2. Get a Mero Share account from CDSC via your DP — this is how you apply for IPOs and see your holdings.
  3. Open a broker (TMS) account with a licensed stock broker to trade on NEPSE.
  4. Link your bank for ASBA/CASBA so money can be blocked for IPOs and settled for trades.
  5. Start with IPOs — many beginners begin by applying for IPOs (see our IPO apply guide) before trading in the secondary market.
