How to Get & Check Your National ID Number (NIN)
Your National Identity Number is generated when you complete biometric registration. To find or check your parichaya patra number:
- It is printed on your Rastriya Parichaya Patra smart card once issued.
- At registration you receive an acknowledgement/receipt that records your enrolment.
- For status or number queries, contact your District Administration Office or the DoNIDCR through the official channel — the number is tied to your biometric record, so it is verified in person, not issued by SMS to strangers.
⚠️ Beware of fake "check your NID number online" links asking for money or personal data. Your National Identity Number is confidential — only share it through official government services.
Why the Rastriya Parichaya Patra Matters
- Acts as a single, verifiable identity across government services.
- Increasingly required for social security (SSF), salary payments, banking and public services.
- Reduces the need to submit multiple documents repeatedly.
💡 Keep your citizenship details consistent with your NID record — mismatches can cause problems later when services are linked to your NIN.
