What is the income tax rate in Nepal for FY 2082/83?
For a single individual: first Rs 5,00,000 at 1%, next Rs 2,00,000 at 10%, next Rs 3,00,000 at 20%, next Rs 10,00,000 at 30%, above Rs 20,00,000 at 36%. Married couples get a higher first band of Rs 6,00,000.
Is the 1% social security tax always charged?
No. The 1% on the first band does not apply if you contribute to the Social Security Fund (SSF), or on pension and proprietorship business income. Toggle "SSF member" above to remove it.
What is TDS on salary?
TDS (Tax Deducted at Source) is the tax your employer withholds from your salary each month and deposits to the IRD. It's your annual tax ÷ 12, shown above as "Monthly tax (TDS)".
Does this include deductions?
This calculates tax on the taxable income you enter. To lower it, subtract allowable deductions (SSF/retirement contribution, insurance premiums, donations) from your gross income first, then enter that figure.
